About Jennifer

Jennifer Shahade is one of the most recognized figures in American chess. A two-time U.S. Women's Chess Champion, she graduated from NYU's College of Arts & Science in 2003 and went on to become a FIDE Woman Grandmaster. Beyond competition, Jennifer has built a second career as a writer and poker player — her books on women in chess have helped bring a new generation into the game. She currently serves as Program Director for US Chess Women and is a leading voice for gender equity in competitive strategy games.
