"I think it's important to meet someone from a totally different background. It's a chance to see how people live, to understand them better."

About Stephanie
Stephanie Wu grew up in Taipei knowing she wanted to live in New York. She earned her degree from NYU's College of Arts & Science in 2009, and while a student she co-founded Mochi Magazine, an Asian American–focused digital publication that brought together her experiences, culture, and studies. She also built early reporting experience through internships at Teen Vogue, Esquire, and The New York Times. After graduation, Wu joined Town & Country as an editorial assistant, where she got to know the worlds of art, culture, books, fashion, food, and travel. She kept returning to food and travel — areas she saw as having endless stories — and built a career around them. She later became digital director at Condé Nast Traveler before moving to Eater, one of the most influential food media brands in the country. As editor-in-chief of Eater, Wu oversees dining recommendations and restaurant industry news coverage for an audience of hundreds of thousands of readers across more than 20 American cities. She has focused on expanding Eater's brand while pushing food journalism to reflect a wider range of voices, communities, and cuisines.
