About Edith
Edith Windsor, Courant 1957, was a technology professional and LGBTQ rights plaintiff whose Supreme Court case changed American law. Before becoming a civil rights icon, she worked at IBM and rose to senior technical leadership at a time when few women held such roles. Her case, United States v. Windsor, helped overturn part of the Defense of Marriage Act. Her profile should connect mathematics, technology, love and the long fight for equal recognition.
