Regina Hall (GSAS '95) Stars in a New Movie

Regina Hall stars in the new movie, Death at a Funeral, which was released in theaters last Friday. She stars alongside comedians like Tracy Morgan, Chris Rock, and Martin Lawrence. She is most recognized for her starring role in all four Scary Movie films. She has also starred in other films such as Love & Basketball (2000), The Honeymooners (2005), and King’s Ransom (2005). Eugenie Clark (GSAS '46, '50) – Distinguished Marine Biologist

euginie_clark_2005s.jpgDr. Eugenie Clark, a world renowned marine biologist, has studied marine life for 60 years. She is the founding director and senior research scientist at the Mote Marine Laboratory located in Sarasota, Florida. She has performed over 70 deep sea dives for her research on the behavior, ecology and physiology of deep sea sharks and tropical fish. She is known to many by her nickname, “Shark Lady,” which she earned through her love and dedication to shark research and conservation.

Dr. Clark, who is about one month shy of her 88th birthday, continues to be very active in her career. She released a new edition of her book, The Lady and the Sharks, this past January and she recently received the 2010 Diving Pioneer Award from Beneath the Sea, a nonprofit organization that strives to increase awareness of the earth's oceans and the sport of scuba diving. She was also inducted into the Florida Women’s Hall of Fame by Governor Charlie Crist last week.
