Several years ago, Scott Harrison was looking for a complete lifestyle change. He gave up his lavish and luxurious lifestyle as a New York City nightclub promoter to embark on a volunteer trip to South Africa with Mercy Ships, an organization that operates hospital ships in order to bring medical services to developing countries. He was deeply inspired by his experiences and he returned to New York City with a mission to provide clean water to poor countries. This is how charity:water was born. In less than four years, Scott has successfully raised $18 million from over 90,000 donors globally for his organization. He recently finished a tour of India, Cambodia, Bangladesh, and Nepal to help assess how he can help bring clean water to these areas of Asia.
During his trip, he sat down with CNNGo to talk about Asia’s need for clean water. Click here to view a video of his interview.
