Dave Isay (WSC '87) – Founder of StoryCorps

Dave Isay will be receiving the 2010 Stephen E. Ambrose Oral History Award from the Rutgers Living History Society on Friday, May 14. Mr. Isay joins filmmaker Steven Spielberg, broadcaster Tom Brokaw and documentarian Ken Burns on the list of recipients of this wonderful award.

Mr. Isay is the founder of StoryCorps and its parent company, Sound Portraits Production. StoryCorps has helped people of all backgrounds and beliefs record and share their personal stories. Selected stories are broadcast every week on the public radio station, NPR.

Mr. Isay has received several broadcasting awards and honors including the MacArthur Genius Fellowship, Edward R. Murrow Award, Robert F. Kennedy Award and the Peabody Award.
